Under 50 Age Group Valid for 29 Types of Cancers

According to the BMJ Oncology study, over 1.82 million new diagnoses were recorded last 2019. Moreover, it also noted that the age group is more vulnerable to 29 types of cancers such as breast, kidney, and ovarian cancer.

Most of the cases were detected in North America, Western Europe, and Australasia. Meanwhile, deaths are more occurring to Central Asia, Eastern Europe, and Oceania patients.

The study then reminded that having a healthy lifestyle is the best way to combat the threat of cancer. This is a fair reminder to invest in healthy diet, commit to outdoor activities, and reduce consumption of alcohol and tobacco.

Cancer is a weakening disease and science is still yet to find the perfect cure for it. Hence, it is crucial that the younger generations commit to a healthy lifestyle before it is too late. Prevention will always be the key.

Factors on Increasing Cancer Rates

This may come as a surprise for some but global warming is one of the possible factors that contributes to occurrence of cancer to younger age. The long exposure to various pollutants are carcinogens which heightens the possibility of developing cancer.

Likewise, obesity is still a prevailing issue for most of the countries. Gaining unhealthy weight can cause not only cancer but also other diseases.

On the other hand, younger generation are more inclined to have bear children on an older bracket. Delayed childbearing could increase the risk of breast and ovarian cancer.

Lastly, hormonal changes can also trigger cancer. However, we cannot ignore the fact that the current technology is more capable of detecting cancer early on compared to the previous decades which might also be a factor on why many cases are listed for the past years.
