Samsung hopes to consolidate its lead over rivals in the television industry, by unveiling its 2014 Smart TVs that boast of improved voice and motion control features, at International CES 2014.
Samsung and LG are the frontrunners in innovation in television industry and both announced recently that they will showcase their latest 105-inch curved UHD televisions at the International CES 2014.
However, the maker of Galaxy smartphones now wants to present itself as the leader in the television segment by announcing that its 2014 Smart TV range comes with improved motion and voice control features.
"Samsung's 2014 Smart TV models deliver significantly improved voice interaction and motion control features so that our consumers will be able to enjoy our Smart TV more intuitively," said Kyungshik Lee, Senior Vice President of the Service Strategy Team of Visual Display Business, Samsung Electronics. "We will continue to develop content that integrates voice and motion recognition for added convenience."
The improved voice feature now allows Samsung Smart TV users to give less commands. For instance, 2013 Smart TV models needed one to say 'Channel Change' and 'Channel Number' to change a television channel but now, all one needs to do is say the channel number.
Samsung has also brought improvements to the motion control by adding the 'finger gesture' feature.""Thanks to 'finger gesture,' users can change the TV channel, adjust the volume, find and select what they want to watch just by using their fingers. They can also go back to the previous screen and stop the video by motioning their finger counterclockwise - a more intuitive way to control the TV," Samsung said.
The latest Smart TVs will be exhibited at Samsung booth #12004 in the Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center at International CES 2014, which kicks off on Jan. 7.
