Halloween is almost upon us, and it's one the best holidays out there since it inspires the best and most creative parties with all the costumes and horror movie references. If you plan to throw a themed party, it's best to be prepared, so here are the tech things you'll need for one.
1. Battery-Powered LED Lights
Lighting is important when it comes to setting the mood, and nothing says scary like a dark room that's only illuminated by a red light. You can choose to buy strips since they're easier to install, especially if you get the ones with an adhesive backing.
It would also be advisable to get battery-powered lights so you won't have to worry about positioning them in locations where there's an outlet. Preferably, get one that's also RGB so you won't be stuck with a red light in case you feel like changing it.
2. Halloween Animatronics
If you're going all out, you might as well get a Halloween-themed animatronic that you place by your door to greet guests. Sure, you'll only be using it once a year, but you can always bring it out for every Halloween party you throw.
This Michael Myers decoration is 6.6 feet tall and 2.3 feet wide, so it's like they will be greeted by a life-size fictional serial killer. His arm moves up and down when activated and has a six-foot cord. Of course, you can always opt for other animatronic decorations.
3. Speakers
A party without music is a dead party, and not the good kind for Halloween. If you really want a lively party with music, then you'll have to blast it using a big speaker that can reach the entire house, maybe even your neighbors.
The JBL Partybox is a portable and rechargeable Bluetooth speaker, which is convenient if you want to move it around. You won't have to worry about carrying it around since it comes with a handle and wheels. You can play music continuously for up to 18 hours when fully charged.
4. Projector
For the sake of getting into the Halloween spirit, you can also set up a projector outdoors and play spooky clips that will be displayed on your walls. You can also put it inside and play a series of scary movies that guests can watch if they don't feel like mingling.
Preferably, get one that is compatible with various ports like HDMI, TV sticks, PCs, and smartphones, as well as Bluetooth connectivity. This way, anyone can connect to it if they want to watch something that they have on their phones.
5. Instant Camera
Taking photos with your phone is good and all, but it would still be cool to have an instant camera handy. You can set up a photo booth where people can take photos with props. Since it's an instant camera, your guests will have a keepsake from the party.
The Fujifilm Instax Mini is a good option for this, as it develops a 2-inch by 3-inch photo for every shot. Each film pack can print out 40 photos, so make sure that you stock up on film just in case everyone wants a photo of their own, and take group pictures as well.
