The fast-paced track of technology has paved the way for generative AI to flourish in this generation. In a way, many tech companies are advertising AI as a tool that various industries can use to maximize their work but at the same time lessen the burden on the workforce.
While generative AI offers many opportunities and benefits to some fields, it also poses great risks and threats to certain fields especially in the creative industry. Artists have been emphasizing that no amount of AI can replace them and have been fighting against the use of AI in their field.
Here are some of the threats that the creative industry faces with the rise of generative AI:

Lack of Authenticity
While there is no doubt that AI can generate various concepts of art with just a simple prompt, it still cannot capture the raw emotions and the real essence of human creativity. Humans are capable of feeling things and artists have their own way of expressing it through their art by making their audience feel the same emotion.
AI is just bound to collate a series of information from its database. There are no emotions involved regardless of how exotic or exceptional the piece is.
Loss of Creative Control
Since AI can just produce based on what it can portray, it leaves artists little to no room to control the arts. Most of the time, artists make decisions to edit their work to put more emphasis on the piece's message. Meanwhile, AI images can get very restrictive since the artist cannot move the elements unlike if it is an original version that was made from scratch by the artist itself.
Job Displacement
The creative industry features a variety of workers from writers, designers, illustrators, and more. These days some of these workers are flooded with worry as they can get replaced by AI.
For instance, there was an author, who unknowingly, had AI-generated books published under her name. Meanwhile, some materials used to promote big series titles are now allegedly using generative AI for some of their elements. These instances create a chilling effect on the creative industry as they hint at how the workforce will be affected in the following years.
Market Saturation
In line with the job displacement, the worst-case scenario is that we will have to live in a generation of a saturated AI-generated market. If this continues, it is possible that it will be hard for people to distinguish what is AI and what is man-made.
Artists will no longer be valued for their talent and skills as people could argue that they could just buy something that AI made for a cheaper price. Most importantly, this will only worsen the technology dependency of the people as they seek a faster and easier way to create art.
Declining Skills Development
If generative successfully takes over the creative industry, artists will no longer have the reason to upskill themselves. Moreover, artists will be forced to rely on AI to finish various tasks. The long and hard-earned skills that they got from years of training will be long forgotten.
