ChatGPT Plus Allows New File Formats to Be Uploaded, Analyzed

Generative AI has been progressing steadily since the AI boom. When ChatGPT was first released, it was no more than a simple chatbot that was a little smarter than most but could only answer text prompts. Now, it is able to analyze files in different file formats as well.

Improved ChatGPT Plus

Subscribers of the paid version of ChatGPT would be happy to know that the chatbot is capable of a lot more now. Especially with work involving documents, users can use OpenAI's chatbot to analyze data by uploading various file formats, as well as use multimodal support.

Upon upload and analysis, ChatGPT is able to summarize the data in the file, answer questions regarding it, and even generate visualizations through text prompts, as reported by The Verge. That means that it has become the perfect office partner.

The chatbot will act like an assistant that has read, memorized, and analyzed the data you have fed it, and you will be able to ask important questions about the document without having to go through all the pages yourself.

Some of ChatGPT Enterprise plan's features are also being added to the AI tool such as the Advanced Data Analysis feature along with others like Browsing and DALL-E. You can even feed it a PDF file and it will still work as intended.

As smart as the chatbot has become, it can now figure out which mode best suits your needs as well, whether it's Browsing with Bing, Image analysis and generation with DALL-E, and more. It will guess what a user needs based on context alone.

How Significant is the Update?

The simple answer is, very. With this kind of tool, it would be like having a genius assistant with a photographic memory. Genius, because the chatbot will have access to vast knowledge through the internet, and photographic memory as it has the file as soon as you feed it.

But, it does pose risks to jobs all the more. Even as a simple chatbot before, ChatGPT Plus was already a threat to several workers in various industries. Now that it can generate images and produce outcomes based on data from uploaded files, it's more of a threat than ever.

With the new features, ChatGPT Plus is slowly becoming the perfect employee, one that is much cheaper to keep and operate than a human worker who needs to be paid a wage. Not only that, but the chatbot will work much faster too.

If you feed it a spreadsheet of expenses and profits that go back 20 years and ask if the business is spending more than it earns, it can answer the question in less than five minutes. A human worker, however, might even take a week to do the same.

If you want to create artwork based on a particular image, you can ask ChatGPT to base the generated content on any photo you upload. After that, you can prompt revisions as much as you want, all of which you can achieve in under an hour.
