What is Grok?

Based on the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, the team explained that Grok can answer almost anything even harder questions. Moreover, it can also suggest what questions to ask. Despite that, the chatbot is designed to answer questions using wit and a rebellious streak.

In a short announcement, the xAI team revealed that Grok has real-time knowledge of the world through the X platform. When xAI was first introduced by Musk, the team clearly emphasized that they would work closely with other companies such as the social media X.

Over the weekend, Musk announced that his new AI venture is ready to be introduced to the world. During the event, the new chatbot was born. "Grok is still a very early beta product - the best we could do with 2 months of training - so expect it to improve rapidly with each passing week with your help," the team wrote.

Grok to Compete With Existing AI Chatbots

One thing that stood out from Grok's description is that the team implied that the chatbot is capable of answering questions that are rejected by other AI systems. For instance, Musk posted a comparison on how Grok is able to answer questions with a splash of humor even the most questionable prompt.

In another post, the xAI owner boasted how having a direct connection to X helps Grok to provide a more accurate answer as compared to typical GPT.

However, as with any other large language model, Grok still has the chance of generating false or contradictory information. In the meantime, interested users can sign up to be waitlisted to use the bot. In addition, Grok AI assistant is announced to be part of the X Premium+ which will cost $16 per month via the web.
