When you hear the word phablet, you probably think of Samsung's widely popular Galaxy Note series of supersized smartphones. The company took a huge risk by bringing a smartphone with a small-sized tablet screen to market. Many tech enthusiasts slammed Samsung for thinking consumers would actually want to carry around a smartphone that borders on tablet territory. Samsung proved its critics wrong and has sold over 50 million Galaxy Note smartphones since the original debut in October 2011.
Samsung announced in December that its most recent Galaxy Note 3 has already sold over 10 million units within its first two months on the market. The Galaxy Note 3 has only proven that consumers are happy with carrying around a device that converges a smartphone and small tablet and with the Note 3's new features, expect those sales numbers to rise. Apple is now rumored to be testing its own 5.7-inch iPhone phablet, which just happens to be the same size display found on the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
You can now get the Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 3 for $199.99 from Amazon instead of the $299.99 Verizon is currently charging online and in retail stores.
One of the best features of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 can be found in its S Pen stylus that allows users to interact with the Note 3 in a more natural manner and it also brings some cool new features. S Finder is a search tool that uses the S Pen to search for keywords on the Galaxy Note 3 - simply jot down what you're looking for and let the phablet find it. Action Memo allows you to take handwritten notes with the S Pen and then compose emails or text messages using the Note 3's handwriting recognition software to turn your scribbles into text. You can also use Action Memo to quickly write down a telephone number that can automatically be added to your contacts. Another cool S Pen feature enables you to clip images or screen shots with the ability to add handwritten annotations and post them to a virtual scrapbook. Those are just some of the unique S Pen features Samsung has built into the Galaxy Note 3.
