Samsung's recently-announced 12.2-inch Galaxy NotePRO has just made its way through the FCC and the certification reveals LTE support for Verizon's 4G LTE network.
During CES, Samsung unveiled its largest tablet to date, the Galaxy NotePRO. The slate is packing a 12.2-inch "Super Clear" LCD display with a very high resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 and since it has the 'Note' moniker in its name, it's packing the company's enhanced S Pen stylus. Samsung designed the Galaxy NotePRO with a focus on productivity and it comes with a new user interface called Magazine UX, which consists of three separate customizable screen panels - one for office/workspace, another for personal use, and one that is dedicated to handling all of your social networks.
Samsung has taken advantage of the 12.2-inch display by increasing its Multi-Window feature's ability to run up to four tasks simultaneously on its screen instead of two. Users will also have a new Remote PC setup application built into the Galaxy NotePRO, allowing users to connect to their PC or Mac via the tablet.
During its presentation at CES, Samsung didn't announce any carrier partners for the Galaxy NotePRO, but thanks to a new FCC filing, we now know Verizon will offer its customers the 12.2-inch tablet. The device is listed as model number SM-P905V and features LTE support for bands 4 and 13, which are the exact bands used by Verizon.
As a reminder, the Galaxy NotePRO features a 12.2-inch display with a "Super Clear" WQXGA LCD panel with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 and a pixel density of 247 ppi. The tablet is running Android 4.4 KitKat along with Samsung's Magazine UX running on top to give users an enhanced experience with a focus on productivity. Its powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset and 3GB of RAM to provide a fast and fluid user experience.
The NotePRO includes 32GB of internal storage and a microSD expansion slot that will support up to 64GB microSD cards. It's packing an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video chat. Its wireless connectivity options consist of a 4G LTE radio, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac MIMO, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, NFC, and IR sensor. Samsung will ship the Galaxy NotePRO with a large 9,600 mAh battery and S Pen with enhanced functionality. Its dimensions are 295.6 x 204 x 7.95mm and it weighs 753g.
There's no word on when Verizon will begin offering the Samsung Galaxy NotePRO to its customers, but once we hear any news, you can be rest assured we'll pass it on.
