SpaceX is being accused of unlawfully sacking several employees who expressed criticism against its CEO Elon Musk, according to a US Labor group.
The National Labor Relations Board filed a complaint on Wednesday against SpaceX for firing eight employees for sending a letter to board executives calling Musk a "distraction and embarrassment" to the company.
What Does the Complaint Say?
According to the complaint, SpaceX has been interrogating employees about the letter and even threatening to fire other workers to discourage them from engaging in similar activities.
The letter was sent in June 2022, calling for SpaceX to condemn Musk for some of his sexually suggestive tweets and sexual harassment in the workplace.
The NLRB believes SpaceX's actions directly violate the workers' rights to advocate for better working conditions.
The labor group is currently seeking a settlement with SpaceX ahead of the scheduled hearing in March.
SpaceX has yet to respond to the allegations.
SpaceX Employees Alleges 'Toxic Culture' Inside the Company
This was not the first time the rocket manufacturer has been accused of workplace misconduct with Musk being at the top of the accused.
A month before the letter was released, SpaceX was also been accused of paying a former company flight attendant a $250,000 settlement after she claimed that Musk exposed himself to her.
Former employees accused SpaceX of having a "toxic culture" where workplace harassment is tolerated " across the spectra of gender, ethnicity, seniority, and technical roles."
Injury reports have also increased in SpaceX over the past few years as Musk rushes his Mars project.
Recent data indicates that there have been over 600 unreported workplace injuries at the company since 2014.
US lawmakers have long since urged reforms on SpaceX's safety and inclusivity policies.
