Fortnite announced its plans to add in-game reporting options for Creative maps after several users reported racism and AI-generative art on some of its user-made maps.
Recently, gamers have spotted user-made maps and modes features that are AI-generated and have a strange pattern of depicting racism.
Fortnite Creates Action Towards Creative Mode
In response to the report, Fortnite creators shared on X that the concerned islands have already been actioned. They also shared how the content is being moderated on the Creative Mode.
"We tell our moderation team to assume good intent on behalf of the creator if they're unsure about a content violation so we don't over-censor. This fails from time to time and things can get published that shouldn't," the creators explained.
In addition, the team encouraged players to keep reporting problematic and offensive islands to help them re-moderate, take action, and remove islands. Moreover, the team promised that they would write new training materials for the moderators along with the implementation of additional in-game reporting options.
Fortnite Creative Opens Impressive yet Challenging Opportunity
Fortnite Creative 2.0 was released in March 2023 for PC users which allowed gamers to create their own islands using the Unreal Engine 5. Many players have contributed to Fortnite's impressive catalog of maps which gamers enjoy if they are bored from playing the mainline modes.
However, the game had a slump due to the rise of offensive maps which managed to slip the moderation team. Previously, Fortnite removed more than 100 Creative maps that showed racist content.
Fortunately, the team is not stopping to cut down on the troublesome behavior brought by the freedom of Creative users. As of writing, the game has yet to announce when the additional reporting options will be released.
