Apple shared an in-depth behind-the-scenes look at the "Super Bowl" halftime show which was shot entirely using iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max devices.

Behind-the-scenes director Mike Carson detailed that the iPhone 15 Pro's support for logarithmic (LOG) and Pro Res recording made a significant contribution to the success of the project.

"We were able to retain so much visual information and data with the amount of dynamic range we had, and Log was paramount in that. I was blown away in the color session by the final image," he said.

In addition, the director also shared that there were no external lenses despite having multiple angles, camera movement, and compositions. Carson also acknowledged the effort of the camera operators who were able to capture and switch to different lenses quickly.

"As a director who also likes to be hands-on, I especially had fun being able to just pick up a camera and shoot without having to overthink about gear, and I could focus on what was in my frame and the overall story and emotion I wanted to evoke," he added.

Meanwhile, director of photography Xiaolong Liu shared that the portability and discreetness of the iPhone made it easier to shoot compared to traditional cameras. He also emphasized the ability to swap between lenses from wide, ultra, and telephoto quickly.

"The unobtrusive nature of an iPhone can help capture more natural and spontaneous shots," he added.

The production team also praised Apple for its game-changing capabilities, allowing professionals to shoot a documentary regardless of the uncontrollable lighting, and such.

Most importantly, Carson believed that the iPhone 15 Pro is useful both for professionals and beginners, citing that the learning curve was small.
