Morph Studio, known for making its own text-to-video model, collaborated with Stability AI to create a new filmmaking platform.
The new feature allows users to create films by generating shots that were made using text prompts.
Morph Builds Creator Community for AI-Generated Videos
Morph collectively calls its process a workflow, wherein users can generate, edit, and cross-cut. The creators are encouraged to share their projects to the community where others can use it as templates.
"If you aren't happy with a shot, you can re-generate it on our canvas. AI has introduced a new workflow to film production," co-founder Xu Huaizhe shared with TechCrunch.
Morph currently sees ByteDance's CapCut as its potential competitor within the AI-powered editing software. The startup company must work to prevent being easily replaceable by other apps.
According to Xu, Morph's strength lies on the foundation of a strong community. The company aims to provide a vibrant community that will suit each creator's needs.
Morph Studio Experiments With AI-Generated GIFs
Before establishing the new feature, Xu had an observation after creating a meme-sharing community that were all AI-generated. Morph was then used as a model that creates GIFs based on text prompts.
"We found that people don't really care if the GIFs look a bit fake. They like it that they can tell it's AI-generated," said Xu.
The founder created a Telegram group wherein people are only allowed to share their GIFs creation. The group quickly got popular, gaining around 300 members within days.
Morph is currently composed of 10 people and has raised around $2.5 million in funding from Baidu Ventures.
