Amazon continues to add generative AI features on its site, particularly functions that would make it easier for vendors to make product listings. From providing just a few key details to work with, sellers can now simply add a URL of their website and Amazon's AI tool does the rest.
Amazon's New AI Feature for Listings
Creating product listings requires a lot of work from sellers, especially since they have to put as much information as they can about the items they're posting. It has to be accurate, informative, and compelling so that customers would be encouraged to buy the product.
Amazon already released an AI feature that could make the process shorter, but the new function now leaves little to no work for the seller. If the product is already listed online on a direct-to-consumer website, then it can be used to create an Amazon listing.
All they have to do is provide Amazon with the URL of the said website, and the retail giant will automatically use its generative AI-based features to create "high-quality, engaging listings for Amazon's store," as per the blog post.
It is meant to enhance and streamline the process of creating product listings and is starting to roll out as early as now. The feature will be available to US users in the coming weeks, and it might just be a new norm for Amazon vendors.
According to the company, more participants use the feature, adding that over 100,000 selling partners have already used one or more of the generative AI tools. Most of the AI-generated listings are being submitted, and sellers are using the suggested attributes 80% of the time with minimal edits.
Amazon also compared the AI-generated content to listings that were entirely made by sellers and found that there were improvements with the former in terms of clarity, accuracy, and details. This, in turn, can help drive up sales for the product.
A More Involved Process Through AI
Adding a URL might be the easiest option, but sellers can still choose to be more involved in the creation process while still using Amazon's AI features. This could be a better feature as well, especially if the website does not contain all the information they want for the product listing.
In the AI tool that Amazon released last fall, the sellers will be able to input key details that are essential to the listing. They just have to add them to the brief description that Amazon asks for with a few words or sentences.
Once Amazon creates a listing, the sellers can then refine it if there are details they are not satisfied with, This lessens the time it takes to upload products on the retail site, as selling partners will only have to scan through the generated content and make a few corrections.
Of course, the AI capabilities don't just benefit customers. The company also released an AI function that creates a summarized version of all the reviews on a certain product, combining all the good and bad reviews in one paragraph to save buyers time in combing through reviews.
