Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet, Xperia E1 smartphone officially in stock in the UK

Sony Xperia fans in the UK are in for some good news, as the Xperia Z2 Tablet and the entry-level Xperia E1 smartphone are now in stock.

The high-end Sony Xperia Z2 tablet made its debut back at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014 and has been up for pre-order in the UK for a good while.

After roughly one month of pre-orders, the Xperia Z2 Tablet is now officially in stock at Sony's own online store in the UK. Sony markets its latest Xperia Z2 tablet as the world's thinnest and lightest waterproof slate, and the device comes with high-end specs and features.

It's worth pointing out, however, that only the Wi-Fi versions of the Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet are listed as in stock. The 4G LTE-enabled model still appears as a pre-order option only, without any specific shipping date. Those who don't need 4G LTE can now grab the 16GB Wi-Fi Xperia Z2 Tablet for £399, while the larger-capacity 32GB version is available for £449.

As a reminder, the new Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet comes with a 10.1-inch full HD display with 1920 x 1200 resolution, a 2.26GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, and a hefty 3GB of RAM. Other specs include microSD card support, an 8.1-megapixel rear camera, and a 2.2-megapixel front shooter. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth, GPS, and 4G LTE (for the LTE model). The slate runs Android 4.4 KitKat, and a 6,000 mAh battery should provide decent performance. The Xperia Z2 Tablet is also dust- and water-resistant.

The Sony Xperia E1, meanwhile, is a low-end smartphone that has been available only in India so far. Now the handset has made its way to the UK as well, sporting a £134.99 price tag at Clove. The smartphone is currently available only in black or white color options, with the purple model set to arrive in April.

As the price tag suggests, the Sony Xperia E1 comes with modest specifications. The handset sports a 4-inch touchscreen display with a meager resolution of 480 x 800, a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor, just 512MB of RAM, and a 3-megapixel rear camera. The Xperia E1 has 4GB of internal storage capacity, microSD card support, and a 1,700 mAh battery. Connectivity options include HSPA+, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. On the software side, the handset runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out of the box.
