Blake Lively Apologizes for Mocking Royal Family's Photoshop Fails After Kate Middleton Announced Cancer Diagnosis

Hollywood actress and entrepreneur Blake Lively posted an apology for creating a comically edited photo that promoted her Betty Buzz beverage business, referencing the Photoshop fails from Kate Middleton's family picture.

Lively penned her apologies on Instagram after the Princess of Wales Kate Middleton announced her cancer diagnosis.

Lively Feels Sorry for Making Jokes at Middleton

On March 15, Lively shared promotional material for her business which featured her sitting on a poolside holding a can of Betty Booze. The photo had noticeable editing fails such as an enlarged thumb and a lemon floating above her head.

"I'm so excited to share this new photo I just took today to announce our 4 new @bettybuzz & @bettybooze products! Now you know why I've been MIA," the actress captioned to a now-deleted Instagram post.

Following Middleton's announcement, Lively took action with the promotional material, stating that it got her "mortified."

"I'm sure no one cares today but I feel like I have to acknowledge this. I made a silly post around the 'Photoshop fails' frenzy, and oh man, that post has me mortified. I'm sorry," the actress wrote.

Middleton Addresses Conspiracies on her Whereabouts

It all started after AP and other news agencies flagged Middleton's family picture as manipulated after spotting several visual anomalies in the photo. The Princess of Wales then defended that she does occasionally experiment with editing.

After a series of conspiracy theories about her whereabouts and health condition, Middleton released a video statement announcing her cancer diagnosis which was discovered on her abdominal surgery.

"It has been an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family, but I've had a fantastic medical team who have taken great care of me, for which I am so grateful," Middleton said in the video.

The Princess of Wales is currently in the early stages of her preventative chemotherapy.
