Ricciardo, James Model Unreleased Beats Device

The unreleased Beats speaker was first spotted at the NBA playoff game. An Instagram reel created by the Los Angeles Lakers team showed James holding an unrecognizable Pill speaker with the Beats logo.

Meanwhile, Ricciardo was photographed holding the same speaker on his way to participate in the preparations for this week's race in Miami. Both athletes showcased a muted rose gold-like speaker that resembled the Pill lineup of Apple's Beats speakers.

The original Pill lineup was introduced over a decade ago in 2012 before the company was acquired by Apple. After the acquisition, the product lineup received a few updates for several years, along with a redesigned version for Pill+.

Apple Hints Possible Beats Pill Comeback

The Pill+ Bluetooth speaker was reportedly discontinued in the early 2022. The speaker was removed from the Apple Store online and Beats website which surprised its fans.

Based on the recent sightings of a new product, fans are speculating that Apple is resurrecting the Pill lineup soon. Aside from the new design, the speaker also featured a new lanyard that was not previously part of the speaker.

The last known Pill speaker was powered by a Lightning connector. Today, Apple has already abandoned the system for a USB-C port for charging. Hence, the new speaker will most likely adapt to the new system as well.

Other changes and improvements in Bluetooth speakers could also be added to the new version. Fans are expecting a major upgrade. However, Apple has yet to release a statement about the speaker such as the release date and its specs.
