Instagram's latest changes on its app are currently under as more users pile in to call the changes "terrible looking" or even "making my screen crawl."

The backlash is directed towards a minimal change in Instagram's font face for its mobile app, reducing the thickness of the letters while increasing its contrast.

While these changes may seem to be unnoticeable to casual users of the app, many influencers have since raised the backlash as more people hop into the hate trend.

As with most changes in the platform, users are quick to notice and criticize the new font style as they urge the social platform to revert to its old font face.

One user even reacted that the changes "make me want to delete the app."

Users' reaction was first reported by Laddible.

How to Change Instagram Font?

It may be hard to convince Instagram to revert to its old fonts, but users can still enjoy the old Instagram on their phones through alternative means.

Users can resort to third-party font changer apps like HiFont for both Android and iOS devices to bring back the old font or introduce a new custom font for the app.

For those looking to bring back Instagram's old font face, it is called "Freight Sans."

Other Instagram Platform Changes Under Fire

The font change was not the first time users called against Instagram rolling supposed improvements on its platform nor it would likely be the last.

Last month, Instagram users flocked to other social media sites to oppose its parent company, Meta, reducing recommended political content in its user feed as default.

Many users bashed the decision as social platforms became many people's main source of news and social trends.

Instagram later rolled out an opt-in option for people to see more political content to compensate for its earlier changes.
