It's More Versatile

Brooms are usually only used on flat surfaces like floors and forget about using them to clean other materials. While older models are more limited, newer models offer a variety of attachments that allow you to use them to clean more types of materials.

Depending on the kind of vacuum you buy, you can use it to clean upholstery, which has always been a tricky material to clean since the dirt can really get into it, as well as carpets. Wet/dry vacuums can also help you clean out spills, which can be a hassle to clean with rugs.

It Provides a Deeper Clean

Since brooms can only sweep so much with the kind of bristles it has, there is a lot of dirt and debris that you might miss. With the way vacuums work, it will clean up everything it come across, no matter how small it may be.

You'll be thankful for it when you have pets since it can suck up pet hair and dander with little effort. The suction as well as the filters within the device will prevent the dust from resettling in the air, which can be dangerous for those with allergies.

It's Easier On Your Back

Some brooms have long enough handles that you won't have to hunch just to reach the junk you're trying to sweep away, but you will still need to put in the effort to actually sweep, put it in a dust pan, and throw it away in the trash.

Vacuum doesn't require much from you since all you have to do is walk around and direct it to the surfaces you need to clean. You won't need to reach under your furniture since most vacuums can easily reach it along with tight spaces, as long as you use the right attachments.

It Saves Your Time

As mentioned before, there are a lot of steps you have to go through when using a broom. You sweep, you put it in a dustpan, and you empty it in a trash can. Vacuums already have storage built in where all the trash, dust, and debris go into.

All you have to do is empty it now and then. Depending on the model, some even have bigger storage bags that you won't have to empty them for at least two weeks. It's a closed container so you won't have to worry about it spilling out.

It Can Get Rid of Stubborn Dirt

While a lot of vacuum models are limited to just sucking up dirt, you can purchase versions that feature other functions like mopping and steaming. These can help you get rid of stubborn dirt like dried sticky liquids on your floor.

The steam would soften stubborn dirt and the wet/dry vacuum can just clean it right up after. With just a broom, you will either have to scrape it off or mop it up. You might even have to use chemicals to make sure that you can remove it completely.
