Due to the rapid advancement, staying updated with the latest trends and lingo can be challenging for parents. This new generation managed to craft behaviors and attitudes of children that could be incomprehensible to the older generation.

Like any other era, Gen Alpha kids are known for their unique set of vocabulary. Most of them stemmed from gaming and other types of media from the internet. For parents, understanding even a few words is already a gateway to better communication.

Here are some popular Gen Alpha slang and their meaning that will help you decode your children's vocabulary:

Skibidi

"Skibidi" is the simplest yet most confusing slang right now. The term came from a popular "Skibidi Toilet" web series on YouTube which features a war between human-headed toilets and humanoid characters.

In terms of sentence usage, the word means nothing when used as a verb, adjective, and more. It is usually common for kids to start their sentences with "Skibidi." It is also used to mock other slang.

Rizzler

Rizzler came from the popular Gen Z slang "Rizz," which refers to someone with charisma. The word is often used when seeing an attractive person. For instance, you can say "I got the rizz."

As it evolves, it is now used as a noun. People who are called "Rizzler" are the people who take advantage of their charisma to charm people. They are aware of the impact of their presence.

There is also a variation of "W rizz" which means having lots of charisma that it feels like a win. On the contrary, "L rizz" means someone lacks charisma and it feels like a loss.

Fanum Tax

"Fanum Tax" refers to someone who steals food. The term is based on the Twitch streamer Fanum who often visits other streamers to get food from them, also known as the tax.

Fanum would often steal food from another popular Twitch streamer, Kai Cenat. The term was popularized by the Gen Alpha and is now used to refer to someone who attempts or intentionally steals their food.

Sigma

If you browse the internet and search for "Sigma" it will direct you to the 18th letter in the Greek alphabet. It would totally not make any sense considering the context it is used by Gen Alpha.

"Alpha" is popular Gen Z slang that refers to someone dominant and successful. "Sigma" stemmed from the same meaning but in a humbler way. It is also often used to describe someone as the best but in a less boastful manner.

Gyatt

This term is often associated with giving compliments or reactions to seeing someone attractive. "Gyatt" is shortened from the term "goddamn" which is a common response for guys when seeing a girl they like.

The term was popularized by the Twitch streamer YourRage. Over time, his audience learned to adapt the word, officially adding it as some of the most used slang of the Gen Alpha.
