Adobe Clears Stand on Generative AI

In section 2.2, Adobe wrote that only users fully control their content. However, occasional access is given to the company to operate applications and services for specific purposes only.

"We will not use your Local or Cloud Content to train generative AI models except for Content you choose to submit to the Adobe Stock marketplace, and this use is governed by the separate Adobe Stock Contributor Agreement," the company added.

Adobe also shared that customers will be asked to help improve the products and services of the company, however, they are free to opt out of the process. Customers who will participate will give Adobe a license to the content for that specific purpose only.

Tools like Firefly and Adobe Generative AI are available upon subscribing to the service. These can be used to generate content for any other legal purpose.

Adobe Faces Scrutiny From US Government for Cancelation Process

Earlier this week, Adobe was sued for allegedly hiding expensive cancelation fees and purposely putting crucial subscription terms behind fine print. The Department of Justice claimed that the company's practice has been harming customers.

According to the complaint, the cancelation fee can cost up to hundreds of dollars. The early termination fee is only shown to customers once they attempt to cancel, giving them little to no choice but to stay with their unwanted subscription.

The company's customer service has also allegedly blocked any customer's attempt to cancel the subscription. Several subscribers shared experiences of resistance from Adobe representatives upon asking for help to cancel their subscriptions.
