We always bring our smartphones with us when we travel so we can contact our loved ones, stay tuned on current events, or take photos of destinations. With a few accessories on hand, you may be able to take better photos, lighten your load, secure your device, and more.
1. Magnetic Power Bank
When you're out exploring, you likely won't have any access to outlets you can charge from, which is why having a power bank will come in handy. However, it is still a hassle having to handle another gadget that might be as big as your device.
With a magnetic power bank, it will simply be attached to your phone and you can just forget that it's there. This particular product is good for the iPhone 12, 13, 14, and 15 series, but there are also other magnetic power banks that might be compatible with your phone.
2. Suction Cup Phone Mount
This can be especially useful if you're traveling alone and have no one there to take photos of you. This can be the alternative to a tripod if you don't feel like carrying an extra item or having extra weight on your bag.
You can stick the accessory on your phone case as long as it's smooth so the adhe sive will stick. The only downside to this is that you will also need to find a smooth and flat surface to stick your phone on. Otherwise, you could just ask a stranger to take a photo if they agree to.
3. Metal Chain Lanyard
One of the negative aspects of traveling to tourist destinations is that bad actors know well enough that it's a good place to scam or steal from people. Putting your smartphone in your pocket or even your bag might not be safe enough.
The metal chain can allow you to attach your phone to your bag's strap or your pants so it's not easily stolen without you noticing. Plus, you can have it as a safety measure for when you're taking photos as well, especially when you are at a height or over water.
4. Waterproof Case
It's hard to tell whether or not you need to shield your phone from the elements when you travel, especially if you're going to a location with unpredictable weather. A waterproof phone case can ease your mind and it doesn't take much space in your bag.
This is ideal especially if you intend to venture into bodies of water or anticipate rain. It's not just water too as it will also protect your device from dust. This product is a universal case, but if you have a popular phone brand and model, there might be a product that fits yours perfectly.
5. UV Phone Sanitizer
People often underestimate how filthy a phone can be. Considering that it's a device you put on the side of your face, that's very concerning. Whenever you put your phone down on random surfaces or hold it after touching something filthy, it immediately becomes contaminated with bacteria.
You won't even have to bring this with you as you explore. You can leave it in your luggage and use it at the end of the day to make sure you don't bring the bacteria to wherever you're staying. While rubbing alcohol works fine, a UV light will be able to kill the bacteria in the crevices as well.
