Intel 13th, 14th Gen CPUs More Prone to Crashes, New Data Report Shows

Intel's 13th- and 14th-generation processors seem to be more prone to crashes and instability issues, according to a new data report from Path of Titans developer Alderon Games.

Alderon Games announced that it is switching away from the new Intel chips following customer reports of "constant crashes,' server outages, and memory corruption when accessing their game on the 13th- and 14th-generation processors.

The developer studio collected at least thousands of customer complaints over a similar Intel processing issue.

According to Alderon Games founder Matthew Cassells, the issue persists even after the developers rolled out firmware updates, BIOS programming, and coding changes.

Fortnite and RAD Game Tools, both of which use Unreal Engine, have also reported encountering similar problems among their players and users.

Which Intel Processors are Affected?

Many affected businesses have indicated that the issue is mostly exclusive to the Intel 13900K and 14900K processors, although similar glitches may be seen on the 13700 and 14700 CPUs.

Another common trend in the processor issue is that performance instability only Appears in a graphics-intensive program like Unreal Engine.

Unreal Engine distributor Epic Games earlier recommended sswitching the SVID behavior to Intel Fail Safe on Asus, Gigabyte, or MSI motherboards to fix the issue temporarily .

Intel has already started investigations since early April when reports of the chips' performance issues first surfaced. Results of the internal probe are yet to be published.

Intel Still Expanding 13th, 14th Gen CPUs Market

Despite growing concerns about its processors, Intel seems intent on further expanding the availability of its 13th- and 14th-generation processors across devices as it continues to lean towards AI-integrated features.

The company even signaled plans to expand its chip factories across the US after it received a hefty $8.5 billion direct funding from the White House to increase the production process for its top-grade semiconductors and chips.
