YouTube Music has started to test its AI playlist for Premium subscribers in the U.S., allowing them to describe a specific playlist they want to hear.
Users can use the AI-generated conversational radio to create a custom playlist by entering prompts that best describe their interests.
YouTube Music Tests New AI Tool to Select Premium Users
9to5Google reported that users should look for the "Ask for music any way you like" card in the Home feed. It will redirect users to a chat-based UI, allowing them to converse on the type of music they would want to hear.
Users are also given a choice to either generate a prompt and specify their interest or choose from the pre-listed recommended topics. Screenshots obtained by 9to5Google showed that the feature automatically generates a couple of songs based on the selected prompt.
Alternatively, the AI tool can be used as a randomizer. Users can ask the chatbot to "Suprise Me!" and it will recommend a random topic and playlist for users to explore.
YouTube Music noted that the AI-generated responses are experimental and the accuracy of the tool will still vary. Users are also discouraged from entering any personal and sensitive information on the chatbot.
YouTube Music Launches Hum to Search Feature
The Hum to Search feature or Sound Search was first introduced by YouTube last May. The tool is reportedly based on Pixel's Now Playing feature and Gemini.
Sound Search can browse YouTube Music's extensive song library by humming. To test the feature, a magnifying glass icon in the top-right corner of the app will direct users to a waveform button.
Users are given the option to sing, hum, or play a song. The tool will start analyzing the input and will show the result including the song name, artist, album, release year, cover art, and download status.
The song can also be played and saved to the library through the buttons from the results. The feature also assured that it can analyze any song in a fast manner.
Sound to Search is now available for Android and iOS YouTube Music app.
