Google Lends AI Features With NBCUniversal Broadcast

In a blog post, Google announced that NBC Olympics announcers are tasked to demonstrate to viewers how to navigate Search's AI Overviews. The feature will help the audience who seek more information about a specific sport or athlete.

Google's AI model Gemini will be used by Leslie Jones for her live inquiries about the Paris Games and Team USA details. NBC revealed that the interactive segment can be followed on Peacock.

Sports fans would also be given a trip to Paris in the comfort of their homes as NBCUniversal will use Lens, Circle to Search, and Google Maps' Immersive view to explore the event's location based on their interests. In addition, Photorealistic 3D tiles from Maps will be used during the broadcast, projecting a life-like visual for the audience.

NBC Commits to Paris Olympics, Paralympic Games Broadcast

Last month, NBC Sports announced that it would launch "Your Daily Olympic Recap" on the Peacock app to provide personalized daily recaps for each subscriber across different posts.

The feature is accompanied by an AI-generated voice of popular sportscaster Al Michaels. The company worked closely with the broadcaster and his previous works to accurately recreate his voice for the recaps.

Peacock will provide a customized playlist each day based on the chosen sports of the subscriber. The first episode of the recap will focus on the opening ceremony and will be the same for everyone but will start its personalization by July 28.
