Apple's 'Wolfs' Settles for Limited Theatre Release, Streaming Debut on September

Apple canceled the wide theatrical release of "Wolfs" and changed it into a limited release on September 20 and a streaming debut on Apple TV+ on September 27.

The film originally intended to launch exclusively in thousands of cinemas, a common pattern to Apple's star-studded films before.

'Wolfs' Preps for Small-Scale Release Ahead of Streaming Premiere

Apple announced today that the film starring Brad Pitt and George Clooney will only do a small-scale limited theatrical release on September 20. This is opposed to the original plan to release the film widely.

Previously, Apple has been launching its original films through an extended run at thousands of cinemas worldwide. Some of the films that followed the pattern include "Argylle," "Napoleon," and "Killers of the Flower Moon."

According to the company, the production of the film is already working on a sequel. Early previews of the film scored high with audiences, teasing its capability to attract more viewers.

'Wolfs' Film Seek to Impress Apple TV+ Subscribers

Just a week after its limited release to cinemas, "Wolfs" will be available on Apple TV+ to be streamed by its subscribers. The film is directed and written by Jon Watts and is produced by Clooney and Pitt among others.

The film centers on the story of two professional fixers who were used to working alone. Both Pitt and Clooney's characters will be forced to work together after being hired to finish the same job.

Despite the sudden changes to its release, Apple assured that it will remain committed to theatrical releases for its other films in the future. For instance, another Pitt-starred movie is confirmed to be released in 2025.
