Flying Robotaxis Could Soon Come to LA, Nearby Cities: Archer Aviation

Flying robotaxis could soon become a common mode of transportation for many residents in Los Angeles and nearby cities as eVTOL maker Archer Aviation expands its air mobility network across California.

First reported by Electrek, Archer Aviation unveiled its air mobility network in Southern California as it plans to launch its flying robotaxi services within the next two years.

Archer Aviation Lays Out Flying Robotaxi Operations in Southern California

So far, the company has already secured a landmark deal with Signature Aviation to lend its airport terminals for its air robotaxis around the Los Angeles metropolitan area with its flagship Midnight eVTOL aircraft.

This includes the LAX airport, as well as several major intersections like Hollywood, Long Beach, Orange County, Santa Monica, and others.

The latest air mobility network proposal marks the next steps for Archer's move to launch operations in the US after finally receiving its Federal Aviation Agency certification after nearly four years of testing.

Archer Aviation Seeks Brand Partnerships to Launch its US Flying Robotaxi Services

To ensure that its services would be marketable to many LA residents, Archer has been securing several brand partnerships to promote its flying robotaxi services.

An Archer spokesperson told Electrek that it is already in talks with the National Football League and the Los Angeles Rams for potential exclusive vertiports deals in their future games. 

The company is also partnering with Southwest Airlines to allow its electric flying taxi services as a way to transport passengers around LA and nearby areas.

Similar deals have already been reached in Archer's earlier attempts to introduce its eVTOLs in other countries, particularly in South Korea and Abu Dhabi, U.A.E.
