The critically-acclaimed GTA V is hitting the latest consoles this fall, launching on the Sony PlayStation 4 and the Microsoft Xbox One, as well as on PC.
Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V) is already available on the PlayStation 3 (PS3) and Microsoft's Xbox 360 consoles, and has proved to be the best-selling video game of 2013 after unloading a record-breaking 32 million+ copies from its launch on Sept. 17 until the end of the year.
While the GTA V is already a massive hit on its own, the power of the next-generation consoles will allow for an even better experience, and Rockstar has also added a few improvements. The upcoming launch of the GTA V on PC, PS4 and Xbox One was the company's biggest announcement at this year's E3 conference, and for good reason.
"Grand Theft Auto V will take full advantage of the power of the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC with across-the-board graphical and technical improvements to deliver a stunning new level of detail," Rockstar touts in a new press release on Tuesday, June 10. "Increased draw distances, finer texture details, denser graphic, and enhanced resolutions all work together to bring new life to the cities, towns, deserts and oceans of Rockstar North's epic reimagining of Southern California."
The GTA V gameplay allows players to switch between the interconnected lives of three protagonists - Michael, Trevor, and Franklin - as they go through a series of heists across Los Santos and Blaine County "in the biggest, deepest and richest open world experience yet."
Rockstar has also added a few gameplay improvements, including new wildlife, upgraded weather and damage effects, as well as other new details. Gamers who have been enjoying GTA V on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 can now pick up where they left off on the newest consoles, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but only via Grand Theft Auto Online.
"All new content and gameplay created since the launch of Grand Theft Auto Online, including an extensive array of new Jobs, an arsenal of new weapons, scores of new vehicles, new properties and player customizations will also be available for the PlayStation 4 system, Xbox One and PC with much more to come. In addition, the current community of players will have the ability to transfer their Grand Theft Auto Online characters and progression to their choice of PlayStation 4, Xbox One or PC," adds Rockstar.
