September 16 has finally arrived, and it happens to be the scheduled release date of Apple's latest macOS 15 Sequoia, which ushers in a new era for computers thanks to Apple Intelligence. However, while Apple's AI model is not yet available upon launch, there is still a list of new features that users can enjoy with the computer operating system.
This includes a feature announced during WWDC 2024, which is none other than iPhone Mirroring, a feature that follows the iPad Sidecar, the Passwords app for better login management, and more.
Apple's macOS 15 Sequoia is Now Available to Install
Apple has started sending notifications about the latest update for Mac computers, informing that the company is officially releasing macOS 15 Sequoia for users to download and install. The new Mac operating system is touted as its most advanced release yet as the company claimed its sharp and helpful capabilities can boost the workspace, streaming, gaming, and connectivity.
While it will feature notable updates and features, the much-awaited ones like Apple Intelligence and upgraded Siri with ChatGPT will have to wait as those are coming by October.
What Features are Available on macOS 15?
Two non-Apple Intelligence features are anticipated in this update. First, macOS 15 brings the capability to mirror iPhones on the Mac's screen, offering users access and control to their iPhones that are logged in under the same Apple ID and running on the same network.
It is known that Microsoft's Windows and Android have long shared this feature through the Link app. Nonetheless, it is a welcome addition that adds to what can be done with both a Mac and an iPhone aside from the Continuity Camera, shared iMessage and notifications, and more.
Aside from this, there is also the Passwords app, which brings a password manager feature for Mac, promising safety and security with it.
Productivity also takes center stage with Sequoia as it brings improved window tiling, new keyboard and menu shortcuts, Presenter preview, FaceTime enhancements, Safari upgrades, Gaming Mode enhancements, and new game titles to enjoy.
Apple Intelligence and More on Sequoia
The annual update from Apple for its computer operating system macOS features a name that pays tribute to another landmark in California, the Sequoia National Park. It was officially unveiled last WWDC 2024 with the promise of bringing Apple Intelligence to Macs featuring the Silicon-based chip known as the M-series lineup.
While its biggest technology, Apple Intelligence, will be available in almost all parts of the world, there are a few exceptions like the European Union member countries. However, there is a glimmer of hope for Europe as Apple Intelligence will be available in its region but only via Mac computers, specifically in the macOS 15 Sequoia's awaited update.
It will be about a month from now before the world gets access to Apple Intelligence, but the latest operating systems meant to feature it are finally here not just for the Mac, but also for the iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch OS.
As Apple prepares the world for its AI's arrival, macOS 15 is here for users to enjoy the beauty of Sequoia, bringing forth new features to enjoy on Mac computers.
