Unannounced Lenovo Yoga 2 10 Tablet spotted in FCC documents

Lenovo may be ready to add a new family member to its Yoga lineup, as a new 10-inch model called the Yoga 2 10 is apparently in the cards.

The Yoga family of devices from Lenovo has proved to be quite successful among consumers, combining different device categories to offer more functionality and convenience.

It remains unclear at this point whether this upcoming Lenovo Yoga tablet will run Windows or Android, but some hints are available in this regards. As Liliputing points out, Lenovo's Yoga devices with Windows on board come with built-in keyboards, whereas the models running Android do not.

News of this Lenovo Yoga 2 10 comes from an FCC listing for a Bluetooth keyboard. Since a Bluetooth keyboard would not be necessary for a device that comes with a built-in keyboard, it would seem that Lenovo's next Yoga tablet will run Android.

The FCC listing in question details the gadget as a Bluetooth keyboard cover for a 10-inch Lenovo Yoga 2 device, revealing that the keyboard comes with a microUSB port and Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) support. No further details are currently available, but if the device dropped by the FCC it may not be long before it's ready to hit the market.

As previously mentioned, Lenovo's Yoga line consists of hybrid devices made of two sets of products. So far, the lineup offered either Windows notebooks with 360-degree foldable screens that would allow them to turn into tablets, or Android tablets with built-in kickstand/handles to turn them into laptops. Considering that this new Lenovo Yoga 2 10 tablet needs an external Bluetooth keyboard, it will likely launch as an Android offering, but some new Windows hybrid is not out of the question either.

Lenovo made no official announcement regarding plans to launch a new Yoga device in the near future, but the FCC listing does indicate an imminent debut. Without any other details or a clear confirmation, however, it's rather tough to determine when this Yoga 2 10 tablet will see the light of day, and what it will have to offer when it does. We'll keep you up to date as soon as more information becomes available, so stay tuned.
