iWatch to debut alongside both iPhone 6 models at Apple’s Sept. 9 event?

The much-rumored iWatch may arrive earlier than previously thought, debuting alongside the new iPhone 6 on Sept. 9, according to a new report.

Apple has long been rumored to be working on a wearable device of its own, but its elusive smartwatch has yet to materialize. Various leaks and reports tried to paint a picture of what to expect and most of them pointed to October as a the most likely timeframe for the iWatch unveiling, but a new report now claims that Apple will take the wraps off its smartwatch next month.

The company has a big event scheduled for Sept. 9, where it is expected to take the wraps off at least one of the iPhone 6 models. Two variants are reportedly in the pipeline, one with a 4.7-inch display and the other with a 5.5-inch screen, but some reports claimed the larger version will launch at a later time.

Reports so far also claimed that Apple will unveil its iPhone 6 in September and its wearable device, unofficially dubbed the iWatch, in October. Re/Code was among the ones pegging the iPhone launch for October, but it has now changed its position.

According to the publication, Apple will take the wraps off its iWatch, as well as both models of the iPhone 6, at the same event on Sept. 9. This would not only mean that Apple's wearable is finally ready for prime time, but also that the 5.5-inch iPhone is not facing delays as previously thought.

It's worth pointing out, however, that Re/Code doesn't cite any source for its latest report, and nothing is officially confirmed at this point. This means that it all remains in the rumor state for now, so it is highly advisable to take this new report with a hefty grain of salt.

An iWatch debut in September may not seem too farfetched, but it remains to be seen whether Apple will indeed choose to unveil both of its iPhones, as well as its first wearable device, at the same event.

We'll stay on top of any Apple announcements and keep you up to date as soon as we learn more, so stay tuned.
