A new Sony Xperia E4 handset is now official, targeting smartphone shoppers who want entertainment and long battery life on a budget.
In fact, Sony unveiled two versions of this smartphone, one with single-SIM support and one with dual-SIM, but both variants are identical in terms of specs and features.
With the new Xperia E4, Sony wants to offer a budget-friendly device with good specs and features, including some premium Sony software features that aim to deliver a great user experience.
"With Xperia E4, we wanted to offer people some of the premium Sony features they have come to expect - with unparalleled ease of use - at a highly-competitive price point," Tony McNulty, Vice President of Value Category Business Management at Sony Mobile Communications, touts in a new press release on Tuesday, Feb. 10. "With a simple set-up, great screen and unrivalled 2 day battery life we've created an on-the-go entertainment device that will keep on going, wherever you are."
When it comes to specifications, the new Sony Xperia E4 has a 5-inch qHD display with a resolution of 960 x 640 and packs a 1.3GHz MTK MT6582 processor paired with 1GB of RAM. The smartphone further comes with 8GB of internal storage capacity, a microSD card slot for additional memory, a 5-megapixel rear camera with several neat features, including HDR, and a 2-megapixel front shooter.
Sony is also touting an impressive battery life for its new Xperia E4, claiming that the handset's 2,300 mAh battery will last for up to two days on a single charge. A Battery Stamina mode, meanwhile, will further conserve battery life to keep the smartphone up and running for a longer time.
"Sony's latest smartphones are fast becoming famous for their superb battery life. Xperia E4 draws upon that expertise, integrating a powerful 2300mAh battery that gives you up to two-days battery life; so you don't have to worry about charging your phone every night. If that isn't enough, activate Battery STAMINA Mode to optimize how your battery is used and Ultra STAMINA Mode to keep your phone running on its core functions for a week."
"Xperia E4 is the perfect companion for consumers looking for a super-easy, yet quality smartphone with great entertainment and long lasting performance."
Sony said that its new Xperia E4 will be available at a "highly-competitive price point," but did not offer any actual pricing details. The smartphone is due to hit retail in mid-February, and will be available in black or white color options. Check out the video below for more details, or head here for the product page.
