HTC One M9 Hima full specs leak ahead of March 1 unveiling – What to expect

The HTC One M9, codenamed Hima, is now the star of a new leak that reveals more details about its purported specifications.

HTC is all set to unveil its latest flagship smartphone at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 early next month, as it has a special event scheduled for March 1. As always ahead of big unveilings, the rumor mill has been going into overdrive trying to anticipate what's to come.

Trusted tipster Upleaks has provided most of the information regarding yet-to-be-announced devices from HTC, and is also the source of the latest leak that reveals the specifications of the upcoming HTC One M9 Hima.

Upleaks bolsters claims that the HTC One M9 will pack an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset under the hood, featuring four Cortex A57 cores clocked at 2GHz and four Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.5GHz, paired with Adreno 430 graphics.

When it comes to the display of the purported device, leaks and reports so far have been contradictory. While some claimed the new HTC flagship would boast a QHD display, others claimed it would skip the 2K race and come with a full HD resolution like its predecessor.

Upleaks apparently sides with the second theory, listing the HTC One M9 with a 5-inch 1080p display. On the other hand, the next-generation flagship will reportedly come with 3GB of RAM.

Other purported specs include 32GB or 64GB of internal storage capacity, a microSD card slot for additional memory, and a 2,840 mAh battery to keep things up and running.

The HTC One M9 Hima is also expected to feature a 20.7-megapixel rear shooter with dual LED flash and an UltraPixel front shooter. Connectivity options reportedly include VoLTE, LTE Cat. 6, Wi-Fi ac, and Bluetooth 4.1. On the software side, the smartphone should come with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop out of the box, and HTC's own Sense 7 UI on top.

As previously mentioned, the next-generation HTC One M9 flagship smartphone is expected to make its official debut on March 1, at the MWC 2015 trade show. Until then, it is highly advisable to take all leaks, rumors, and speculation with a grain of salt.
