Dell has added a new device to its business tablet portfolio, introducing the powerful new Venue 10 7000 priced at $499.
The company said its new Dell Venue 10 7000 will hit commercial availability in May, initially rolling out in the U.S., Canada, and China. Dell has yet to disclose availability in other markets.
While the tablet itself will come with a $499 price tag, it will also be available in a $629 bundle that will also include a detachable magnetic keyboard.
In terms of appearance, the premium Dell Venue 10 7000 builds on the highly-acclaimed, "razor-thin" profile of the Venue 8 7000, which makes it easy and comfortable to hold and carry. Combined with the backlit magnetic keyboard, the tablet will offer five different positions: tablet, slate, stand, tent, or clamshell modes.
When it comes to hardware specifications, the tablet features a 10.5-inch OLED touchscreen with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels and packs a quad-core Intel Atom Z3580 processor under the hood, paired with 2GB of RAM. Other specs include 16GB of internal storage capacity, an 8-megapixel RealSense depth camera, a 2-megapixel front shooter, and a powerful 7,000 mAh battery. The Dell Venue 10 7000 also rocks front-facing stereo speakers with MaxxAudio Mobile by Waves for an immersive audio experience, while the intuitive Dell Gallery application will offer neat features to capture and organize your photos. Considering that it's a business tablet, the slate also comes with Android for Work to boost productivity.
"Dell customers want more from their tablets. They want to be productive and get work done wherever they are, they want a great entertainment experience, and they want to carry something that turns heads. The Venue 10 7000 gives our customers all that and more: enhanced productivity with a full-sized keyboard and Android for Work, a brilliant display and innovative features like the Intel RealSense snapshot depth camera, all wrapped in a gorgeous design," Neil Hand, vice president of the Dell Tablet Group, touted in the press release.
"We're excited to continue our collaboration with Dell on the Venue 10 7000 tablet. Based on the Intel Atom processor, the new tablet will bring a high quality, smooth experience with long battery life in a sleek design, whether it's for work or play. The Intel RealSense snapshot technology in the new tablet will also provide people with exciting new ways to capture the world," added Navin Shenoy, Vice President and General Manager of Intel Mobility Client Platforms.
As previously mentioned, the Dell Venue 10 7000 will launch in the U.S., China, and Canada in May, and will be available from the company's website.
