June 2 9- Mobile company OnePlus 2 announced that its second generation smart phones will have fingerprint sensor. The sensor, the company claims, is more sensitive than that of Apple's new TouchID technology.
The announcement followed the leak of yet-to-be released photos of mobile phones. The leak included Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and OnePlus 2. Netizens were excited by the new design.
"With the OnePlus 2, the fingerprint sensor is done right," the mobile company claims. The fingerprint sensor technology was not included in the OnePlus 1 model. The company also said that mobile users think that the feature is not really necessary or practical for a mobile phone.
But the fingerprint sensor has been a brewing idea for the company, and is included in pitches and concepts for its phones. Once OnePlus has the technology to make the feature possible, the sensor has also become a part of the OnePlus 2, much to the excitement of netizens. The company is improving the feature, but tech websites such as xdadevelopers already claimed that it "is now significantly quicker than alternatives such as TouchID".
The OnePlus 2 model specs and sketches are set to be released July 27 this year. Last week, sketches of the new smartphone made rounds in tech websites. Tipsters claim that the mobile will have 5.5 X 5.7 inches dimensions. To date, OnePlus has not released an official photo of its new product.
About the new features supposedly improving the trademark USB cord, OnePlus said, "We've made further improvements on top of the USB Type C standard that we have patented and that will be exclusive to OnePlus. We don't want to spoil the surprise, so tune into the OnePlus 2 launch to find out more!"
OnePlus announced that the base of OnePlus 2 will have a USB Type C Port, making phone usage even when charging easier.
The company's CEO was also reported to have announced that the OnePlus 2 will cost $400. No official updates have been released regarding pricing, with the sensor in consideration.
