The new Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will make better use of its curved edged screens' feature. Samsung has decided to do this due to people complaining that there is not enough usability of the curved screens its flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S6 Edge.
Samsung filed a patent for its application Edge designed to allow quick access to other regular apps. The Edge app has the purpose of organizing frequently used applications. The curved edge currently has not many functions in a user's phone yet, but it is expected that the functionality will grow with new added features. More apps for Samsung Galaxy's curved display may arrive soon.
The South Korean manufacturer Samsung is aiming to provide more usage for the edge and curved screens. Curved and edge screens are clearly one factor that are differentiating Samsung devices from other Korean tech brands as well as from other rivals such as Apple.
While Samsung is focusing on making more apps for the curved display, the South Korean company is now announcing their latest devices, the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus and the Galaxy Note 5. The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is expected to be launched in mid-August.

This means Samsung rivals on the smartphones market will really have to start creating something unique if they want to extend their market share and compete with the Samsung S6 Edge. In the same time, the Korean tech giant declared that will hire more developers for apps optimized for curved screen devices.
Samsung has been reported handing out APIs to developers. Developers have already authority to start creating more applications for curved screens. Another thing that has been reported is that the Korean tech giant is in the process of creating a whole new App Edge store. This will provide users special apps optimized to function on curved display screens.
It seems that Samsung is giving up on launching Note Edge 2 this year. This may happen because they need to focus more on the launch of the new Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. Also focusing on the edge app development may work to attract more audience. This might result in more sales and profits for the South Korean company.
Since they had a bad second quarter, Samsung is trying to gain more sales through its Galaxy S6 series by offering deals and packages. This includes the ultimate upgrade where users were offered $100 rebate on every purchase of the Samsung Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge 64GB. The operator T-Mobile also allowed its subscribers to upgrade the storage capacity on their Galaxy S6 Edge.
