Apple May Debut Revamped iPods Anytime

For a while now, Apple's miniature and highly portable music players, the iPods, have not been heard of. They may have been off the radar for quite a bit, with the company bringing in iPhone after iPhone, but it seems that they will be staging a comeback in the tech market anytime soon.

Persistent rumors have it that Apple will be releasing its line of revamped iPods today, July 14. The debuting iPod models include the iPod Nano, iPod Touch, and iPod Shuffle. Macrumors also indicated that the company will be releasing the devices in six new colors such as fuschia, gold, electric blue, pink, black and grey.

Another widely speculated issue is the device's upgrade to 64-bit. This is projected to be seen in Apple's first touch screen iPod, the iPod Touch. According to Apple Insider, the new iPod Touch may also feature an improved camera. The iPod has last been refreshed in 2012, with the arrival of the iPod Touch.

The device has first been launched in 2001, along with iTunes. Now that Apple Music is also nearing its release, a debut along with the company's music streaming platform makes perfect sense.

"If Apple subsidized the initial purchase price of an iPod with Apple Music, I could see that driving sales of iPods and Apple Music," Moor Insights and Strategy analyst, Patrick Moorhead, said in ABC News.

Media expert and Manatt Digital Media CEO Peter Csathy also believes that Apple needs iPod to build more brand loyalty. As one of the brand's first and best-selling devices, the kind of user experience iPod has been offering is still unparalleled by other known music devices. Its size allows it to be readily used and carried anywhere.

No statement from Apple has been released regarding the rumours. Followers of the company's products may want to look out for this day, in particular. Talks of Apple making an iPod debut today have not died down.
