Twitter has updated its iOS app. The microblogging company will also be releasing its Windows 10 version soon, following the operating system's launch today, July 29. The updated Twitter for iOS will have more interactive features, which, while not exactly big changes on the app, are welcome updates that can be useful to Twitter users.
According to The Next Web, the updated version allows users to view and respond to notifications while using other apps. Saving drafts is also made easier by the update, where a quill icon shows up as users begin composing tweets. The icon allows them to navigate and save to drafts, which they can review. The latest Twitter iOS app, Twitter 6.33, is made for the new API which comes with iOS 8, Apple's latest operating system. The app is available on iTunesApp Store.
Twitter for Windows 10, on the other hand, will have updates focused more on the app's design, to better fit the operating system. Twitter for Windows 10 is now live in the Windows Store, said an announcement made in Windows Central. The app, according to Windows Central's editor-in-chief Daniel Rubino, lacks some key features of Twitter's other versions.
"In our short time with the app, we cannot say we are overly impressed but it at least looks okay and does some basic things. For instance, there is no quote RT, no pull to refresh, no settings, no large tile and no location info." Rubino wrote in the post. Some plus points for the Windows 10 updated app is the search tool and GIFs that "work nicely with a little player." Controls for notifications are also a plus for the app.
Twitter for Windows 10 is now available in Windows Store. The post indicated that the app may also be coming to Windows Phone.
Windows 10 has been launched today, to the hype created by betas the company tested over the last month leading to the release. Twitter, on the other hand, will be holding its annual conference in San Francisco this Oct.
