Angry Birds, the casual puzzle game from developer Rovio, has been exceptionally popular in such a short time after its release. The game has frustrated its players and the characters have landed on most merchandise from cereal boxes to plush toys. Angry Birds has launched 15 games, and they have been met with warm customer reception. On July 30, the franchise announced the release of the android and iOS versions of the newest Angry Birds edition.
Angry Birds 2 promises better graphics. The look of the new Angry Birds does not differ so much from the original one, except the colors are less solid and the lines are softer and lighter. It's safe to say that at first glance, the new edition is easier on the eyes graphics-wise. The animation is also more fluid and facial expressions are added for a comic effect. Rovio has delivered on its promise of better graphics for the game.
Aside from a new look, Angry Birds 2 has also clued players in on some tweaks while playing the game. According to Gadgets, Angry Birds 2 has brought in a new flock of colorful birds and bosses to the latest edition. There are also multiple levels for the game, which the player sees first upon opening the app on his device. Some complaints indicate that the installation requires several other additional apps to be downloaded. Angry Birds 2 by itself is already 67 MB, a memory-heavy file.
The game has plus points in some of the tweaks, like a fast-forward button. This speeds up the time between the player's movements and allows him to avoid spending too much time waiting for dialogue boxes to load. Also a welcome tweak is how the game lets the player choose a new bird for the next level.
Angry Birds, which has first been released in iOS in December 2009, has suffered a 73 percent drop in sales in the past year. The franchise has released 15 games. Finnish game maker Rovio hopes that the new version will get the sales back on track, bringing the franchise back to its highly successful days.
