Apple's TV Streaming Service Has Been Delayed; Will Be Released In 2016

Apple has earlier been reported to introduce its TV streaming service next month. But as it turns out, the company will not be releasing the service until next year. This is according to an anonymous source from Apple. Reasons cited for the delay include slow licensing process and the technology not being ready as of yet. The company has also been reported to be releasing the TV streaming service for US customers only.

According to The Hoop News, in which internal sources confirmed the delay, Apple is having difficulties in establishing a network for the new service. This comes as a result of slow licensing processes, and most of the negotiations with telecommunications companies are still ongoing. The devices to launch the streaming service with are still not ready.

The company does not have enough hardware and computation power. The company has millions of customers in the United States alone. It has already released a raw software in the form of Apple Music, which eventually snagged most of iTunes' users. Apple obviously does not wish for this to happen to its new television streaming service, and thus the company is willing to delay the release till next year.

An exact date for the launch has not been set. Costs for the service have also not been indicated as of yet but are projected to be higher than existing streaming services. The service itself may not bring in revenues for Apple, but the Apple TV box it's equipped with may be its main selling point, setting it apart from the competition.

Apple's TV streaming device, the small black box called Apple TV, has earlier been reported to launch with the iPhone 6. The device is powered by an A8 chip for high speed and better performance. The technology is present in many of Apple's devices. An earlier report has discussed the technology at length, and also indicated that Apple is talking to TV content owners and makers to come up with bundles for the new service. Apple confirmed that the Apple TV app will also be debuting.
