Canada-the BlackBerry Venice has not yet even been confirmed. But the handset clearly does not have a shortage of leaked photos and information. On Monday, Aug 24, popular leakster Evan Blass shared GIF files of the upcoming smartphone.
The BlackBerry Venice has long been rumoured to be Android-powered. The leaked images seem to prove just that, and what's more, they show that the new device is not bound to be just another Android phone.
Armed with BlackBerry's extensive productivity suite, Blass says of Venice, "This is no stock Android handset." NDTV Gadgets reiterates that the BlackBerry Productivity Suite includes six apps, namely, BlackBerry Productivity Suite includes BlackBerry Hub, BlackBerry Contacts, BlackBerry Calendar, Documents to Go, Input and Universal Search.
The slider handset 's Communication and Security Suites bring about a dozen more pre-loaded apps to the new smartphone. A few weeks before, GIF videos of the new handset have been leaked. Other images, allegedly those of the device, have made their way on Twitter last month.
The latest BlackBerry Venice leak also shows some Google apps that are pre-loaded on the Android-powered smartphone. Google Plus, Google Hangouts, and Google Android for Work are installed in the handset. Google has earlier announced that upcoming Android smartphones will have less bloatware.
Owners will instead have the option of choosinh whether or not they will run certain Google apps on their handsets, and purchase them on Google Play Store. The BlackBerry Venice is widely speculated as the company's bid to restore its market share.
If the device is indeed going to hit the market soon, it may bring BlackBerry back to its more successful days. BlackBerry sales have peaked in 2009-2010. Now, it has less than three percent of the total smartphone market.
The company has recently releases its Passport handsets, which have been anticipated by online communities. To date, BlackBerry has kept mum about the Venice handset.
