American mobile company Blu has announced its new smartphone, the Blu Pure XL. The new mobile device is equipped with high-end specs and a price to match, but with the global smartphone market dominated by the likes of Samsung and Apple, it still leaves to be seen whether the new device will be able to establish a solid following in the Uniyed States.
The Blu Pure XL is a hefty 6-inch smartphone. According to an Engadget report on the device, Blu's newest mobile model is equipped with a quad-HD Super AMOLED display. The device also comes with a front and rear camera, both of which sport high resolutions for the snap-happy user. The front camera is 8 megapixels, whereas the rear camera is an impressive 24 megapixels.
The device runs the latest Android operating system, Android 5.1, unlike its predecessors. The Blu Pure XL has a 64GB storage and 3GB RAM. The device is also equipped with the just-released Mediatek octacore processor, which runs 2GHz. At the back of the device is a fingerprint sensor.
Battery of the new Blu smartphone is 3,500 mAh. Engadget calls the smartphone model Blu's "most powerful" device so far. The Blu Pure XL will be available as an Amazon exclusive beginning on Sept 29. The device will retail for $349. The dual-SIM phone is ideal for travelling and supports AT&T and T-Mobile LTE networks.
Blu has been established in the United States in 2009. The company has been known for producing smartphones that are not tied up to contracts with mobile networks.
In April this year, the company launched its Selfie smartphone. The device is equipped with a 13-megapixel front camera, and comes with LED flash for both its front and rear cameras. The mobile model takes advantage of the selfie trend, which has also given rise to other smartphones and photo-editing apps that center on it.
