Apple unleashes its latest wave of devices for the consumer market and the whole world gets ready to dish out the big bucks. This time around, those in the 'S' cycle are in for a treat. Apple's newest siblings, the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus are armed and loaded with several innovative features and a newer model to help it take over the world by storm once again.
Both of last year's iPhone 6 models managed to reach 10 million unit sales record -- not a small feat even for the Cupertino-based company. Apple looks to overpass that success and expects the two new models to beat that record.
The two new iPhones are equipped with several upgrades as compared to the previous models. Now included is the new 3D touch feature allows users to gain access to more menus and other extras by pressing harder on the display. Both units will also receive several upgrades to improve performance - a 12MP primary snapper, the latest Apple A9 chipset and 2GB of RAM are in tow.
On Monday, Apple on CNBC said that it's 'on pace' to beat last year's record set by the iPhone 6 and the 6 Plus. "Customer response to iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus has been extremely positive and preorders this weekend were very strong around the world," Apple said in a statement. "We are on pace to beat last year's 10 million unit first-weekend record when the new iPhones go on sale Sept 25."
Apple began taking preorders since the 13th for the iPhone 6S and the 6S Plus. Both models are also set to go on sale this September 25th. This in turn spells price drops from previous models, slashing off as much as $100 from its original price tag.
