Facebook does not want its users to leave its platform as it offers different features that will let you stay hooked on the social networking site. This time around Facebook introduces its newest feature, Instant Articles that will allow its users to access full articles on the Internet without having to open another window.
Facebook has, again added to the social networking site's growing number of features. Its 1.5 billion monthly active users will be able to find pretty much everything in the platform. From e-commerce features to videos to important security updates, it seems that Facebook has already done, or is doing, all for its loyal users. This time around,
The Instant Articles function appears as an icon on the top right side of the article link. The icon resembles a lightning bolt, similar to that of Facebook Messenger's. The feature has already rolled out to iOS users, as Tech Times reported.
Facebook has opened the beta version to Android users, and the company is planning to release the live version of the app to the operating system later this year. Michael Reckhow, project manager of Facebook Instant Articles, said that the lightning bolt also signifies that with the feature, articles will be able to load ten times faster as compared to when opened using separate windows.
"The Instant Articles experience is seamless for readers. When a friend or publisher shares a link on Facebook, the enhanced experience is displayed automatically if an Instant Article version is available," Reckhow stated in a media release. "Instant Articles are simply the articles already in your Facebook News Feed, made faster and more beautiful."
Facebook also claims that readers "love" the new feature. The function was in testing for iOS devices over the last couple of months. The Instant Articles feature is already present in some US publishers like Buzzfeed, The New York Times, NBC, The Atlantic and Cosmopolitan among other names.
