Rumors About Nintendo NX’s Shift From Discs To Cartridges-A Smart Move?

Rumors say that Nintendo NX is taking a leap behind-going back from discs to cartridges. Is it really a smart move? Well, who knows? Back in the old times, children love to play Nintendo with cartridges. There seem to be no problem about it. Offline playing then has no problem for the gamers. But as people all know, there has to be a development. So, from simple cartridges, the developers have to make paradigm shift for them to sell their consoles and the games themselves.

Now that the consoles have to be using discs, some avid players have observed that there were a few problems along the way. Some of these problems that are mentioned are the lagging problems and optical scratches may cause the quality of the game. So, if this is the case, there is no satisfaction for the gamers themselves.

According to a post via ArsTechnica, Nintendo is in a peculiar position. It may not only return to its chip based media for its upcoming NX home system's software. In addition, it may also do good to their business. Macronix, a company that serves as a chip supplier of some sort for Nintendo NX speaks about the their higher expectations for its "NOR Flash" business linked to the launch of the new Nintendo Hardware.

In addition for the related subject, a post from the website Metro says that for years, Macronix has been the supplier of game cartridges for the 3DS and it is implied that their new 32 nm line of chips are for the NX. Moreover, the company is expecting a boost in revenues from its work with Nintendo. ArsTechnica cited that there is still a lot of "ifs" for this theory to pan out. The fact is there are lots of third-party game producers ready to shell out budget in supplying 3D cartridges.
