After the success of the first "Star Wars Battlefront" game, EA confirmed that they will be releasing a "Star Wars Battlefront 2" game although a release date hasn't been officially discussed yet.
According to a report from PC Advisor, EA officially confirmed that they will be making a sequel to the game during the company's earnings call. In addition to that, EA chief financial officer Blake Jorgensen revealed how successful the first game was and that it sold at least 14 million copies.
Based on that, Jorgensen revealed that they will most likely be releasing a new title every year for the next few years - similar to what they are doing with the "Star Wars" movie franchise. He revealed, "We'll most likely have one Star Wars title a year for the next three to four years," as he talked about the release date of "Star Wars Battlefront 2."
Meanwhile, a news article from News Everyday revealed that EA executive Patrick Soderlund confirmed in an EA Investor Day conference that the sequel to the sci-fi action title will now involve a single-player mode, compared to the first title, which only had an online multiplayer mode.
"The one thing we got criticized for was the lack of a single-player campaign," Soderlund stated. "It was a conscious decision I made due to time and being able to launch the game side-by-side with the movie that came out to get the strongest possible impact."
Furthermore, he also promised that there will be major improvements on the game for the gamers to enjoy the game even more, as they are hoping to get their ratings higher than what they got with the first one.
As to when the blockbuster EA game "Star Wars Battlefront 2" release date will be, there are no confirmations made yet. Although, according to speculations and rumors, the game could potentially come out by late next year.
