New 'The Sims 4' Update Shows All-Out Support To LGBT Community

When it comes to simulation games, it seems "The Sims 4" is still the best out there. And with the game's latest update, all gender boundaries have been removed. This will certainly bring joy to players who want to express themselves through their characters.

According to The Guardian, EA's subsidiary Maxis has some new changes to the game, bringing all-out support to the LGBT community. From hairstyles to accessories to clothes to physical characteristics, players now have the ability to customize their characters without restrictions.

Simply put, the studio wants to provide freedom to all "The Sims 4" players. For the company, the ability to create and express is of utmost importance to it as well as the game's player pool. After all, the life simulation video game is created by and for diverse people.

With the new "The Sims 4" update, players now have the capability of creating characters that are aligned to their identity. They are given the tool to customize their character's ethnicity, age, body and gender, among others.

Tech Times notes that "The Sims 4" players are introduced to over 700 options on clothing, jewelry, hairstyling and the alike. And these options can be used on either female or male. If they want to dress their male characters with flowery dress, they can simply do so. If they want their female characters to have a masculine physique, they can do so as well.

The decision to remove all gender restrictions in "The Sims 4" rooted from the company's goal of providing liberty to the players. And without a doubt, this move has put the developers in the spotlight.

The update, however, will not affect the game's overall gameplay. Nonetheless, "The Sims 4" players can now designate which ones are to be produced.

It should be noted that the franchise has since permitted same-sex romances, with the original game being the first one. In fact, the marriage option has long been introduced in the third installment.

The new "The Sims 4" update is now out across PC and Mac platforms. And yes, it is free!
