Nintendo NX News And Rumors: Console To Finally Make Its Debut At Gamescom

The Nintendo NX official release date may be announced at the upcoming Gamescom conference which will be held in Cologne Germany on mid-August of this year. However, some have already raised their doubts.

News about the possible release date of the Nintendo NX has started circulating this year. The rumor has some basis, according to Digital Trends. The Gamecube was officially announced there in 2000.

Gaming Bolt reported however, that this highly unlikely. It is true that Nintendo is attending the European event. However, the booth that the Japanese company will reportedly occupy is too small to justify the launching of its newest gaming console. It also pointed out that Gamescom is not big enough for Nintendo to announce the release of a gaming console that will rival other gaming platforms out there.

Nintendo spokesperson Shigeru Miyamoto told reporters that announcement was supposed to be made during the E3 convention last June. However, it was cancelled at the last minute. The company explained that it was afraid that rivals may steal the latest design of its upcoming console.

The Japanese company has introduced several notable innovations in the gaming industry and continues to do so. The introduction of the Wii U console and its motion sensor gameplay has caught the attention of game developers and gamers alike.

Unfortunately, the enthusiasm was short-lived. Many of the game developers who initially announced their support for the Japanese console back out. The competition from other rival platforms such as Microsoft's Xbox One and Sony's PlayStation 4 did little to help it.

Nintendo stockholders meanwhile, wanted the company to focus on the lucrative mobile gaming market. The success of the mobile gaming app Pokemon Go has caused Nintendo's stock to rise. The company however has to yet to show substantial profit from the mobile game.

Nintendo did announce that the NX will probably be launch on March 2017.
