While "Pokemon GO" continues to make a huge name, it also drastically affects a person's life in one way or another. And surely, Niantic's titular mobile game has its own pros and cons to offer. Heck, it can even put a gamer's life in danger. Recent reports point to a 19-year-old player who almost got killed following a car crash in a school at Melbourne, Australia.
According to The Guardian, a "Pokemon GO" player resorted to a sudden PokeStop. Unfortunately, his car crashed to a school situated in Melbourne. The person, as confirmed by the local police, was reportedly on a journey to catching Pokemons. But to his dismay, he lost control of his vehicle, as he tries to implement a roundabout.
The "Pokemon GO" player's car crashed into a fence, all the way to the school's infrastructure in Berwick. The accident happened around 6:50 PM (Australian Time) on Thursday. Luckily, no person was deemed injured.
Sadly for the "Pokemon GO" player, he will be charged something akin to careless driving, as reported by TVNZ. And what is even worst, he was not able to level up and/or collect any stardust of sorts. Instead, debris and stuff alike became his reward.
The Pokeballs as well as the eggs and/or potions from the "Pokemon GO" driver "only attracted police." Spokesperson of Victoria Police Department made the statement.
As of this writing, there are almost 40 flashing road signs placed. The "Don't Drive and Pokemon" signage was put to serve as warning to all "Pokemon GO" players trying to drive while playing the game. The government agency called VicRoads spearheaded the project.
Meanwhile, "Pokemon GO" players who are out there hunting creatures on barefoot are also being warned. That vehicles and other possible accident risk areas could be a treat to their lives, especially if they are not responsible enough.
Currently, "Pokemon GO" has been downloaded for over 50 million times from Google's Play Store. It is also considered as the number one free iOS app in all of Australian charts.
