Asus at Computex 2012: Top 5 Devices Launched by the Innovative Manufacturer

With the outset of tech trade show, Computex 2012, consumer electronics major manufacturers have announced their big launches in the category of laptops and ultrabooks. However, out of all, Asus has come out as the show-stealer so far.

The manufacturer has flooded the event with its numerous and creative line of Transformer series with the integration of Microsoft's latest Windows 8 operating system in its latest tablet and laptop range. Above that, adding to the line-up, Asus has finally unveiled a product which they call the Transformer AiO, which essentially is an All-in-One computer that can dual-boot Windows 8 and Android operating system. The company was rumored to be working on the product for a longtime.

Here is a complete list of the products launched by Asus in the Computex 2012 event till date, and what all features do these newly launched devices come stacked up with.

Asus Transformer AiO

The Asus Transformer AiO, All-in-One PC will run on a dual operating system machine - supporting both Windows 8 and Android.

The device features an 18.4-inch display which is detachable from its base and can be used as a tablet as well. Further, Asus is currently tight lipped about full specifications of the device. However, a few reports have claimed that AiO will come with Intel's latest Ivy Bridge processor for the utmost power and a big RAM, other latest features.

Asus Taichi


Asus also unveiled its Taichi laptop, dual-sided LED-backlit IPS/FHD display / hybrid running Windows 8 device with a touch screen on the outside of the lid. Available in both 11.6" and 13.3" screen sizes, the TAICHI is as light and thin as the Asus Zenbook with third generation Intel Core processors, fast SSD storage and dual band 802.11n Wi-Fi.

ASUS Transformer Book

Further, the company also launched on the Computex 2012 platform, ASUS Transformer Book which the company claims as the first convertible notebook - allowing users to instantly switch between a notebook and a tablet by simply detaching the screen. Talking about specifications, the device features Intel's latest atom processors and discrete graphics, along with SSD and HDD storage, 4GB DDR3 dual-channel RAM and USB 3.0. The Transformer Book also features ASUS SonicMaster technology to deliver crystal-clear sound with deep rich bass through its integrated speakers.

ASUS Tablet 810 (Windows 8) ASUS Tablet 600 (Windows RT)

Along with the dual-screen Taichi notebook, the Transformer All-in-One and the Ivy Bridge based Transformer Book, ASUS announced two more Windows 8 tablets.

The ASUS Tablet 810 (Windows 8) which again features the Intel's Atom processor and 2GB of RAM with a 64GB eMMC for user storage. The device boasts an 11.6" display with 1366 x 768 resolution and is equipped with Super IPS+ technology to deliver visual clarity both indoors and out. Also, the 810 has a 64GB of solid state storage, NFC, 8MP rear facing camera and 2MP front facing camera. It is basically a full featured Windows 8 tablet that can dock into a full keyboard similar to the Android based Transformer Pad.

Moving on to ASUS Tablet 600 (Windows RT), it utilizes the NVIDIA® Tegra 3 quad-core processor and 12-core GPU for mobile graphics performance; it also has 2GB RAM and a 32GB eMMC for user storage. The 600 has a 10.1" display with 1366 x 768 resolution, Super IPS+ and has the same 8MP/2MP camera configuration with a dockable feature just like 810.

Additionally Asus has also announced host of other hardware including ASUS Designo MX279H and MX239H monitors and ASUS RT-AC66U router. Pricing and availability are both unknowns at this point for these newly launched devices.
