Elder Scrolls 6 Release Date Finally Revealed? Game's Movie Adaptation Could Only Happen With Peter Jackson

Elder Scrolls 6 has long been in the rumor mill. And clearly, fans want it. So if what Pete Hines said is really happening, then the game is likely to arrive prior to the remastered versions of Morrowind and Oblivion. Meanwhile, a movie adaptation of the game is close to becoming a reality, but if and only if Peter Jackson signs on to direct it.

According to TechnoBuffalo, Hines sees the release of Elder Scrolls 6 as a more feasible road to take than venturing on the Morrowind and Oblivion remasters. He agreed, though, that unleashing the HD versions of the two said titles is an interesting idea.

As to why Hines chose Elder Scrolls 6, he explained how the two games -- Oblivion in particular -- were developed by "several engines ago." That in a sense, gamers will find it a complete nonsense, stating why Oblivion HD was not developed instead of Skyrim HD. After all, as he confirmed, the processes are all the same.

He also weighed on which project to work -- if it will be Elder Scrolls 6, or perhaps Morrowind and/or Oblivion. Nonetheless, Hines admitted that remastering the previous titles -- most especially Oblivion -- is synonymous to a great volume of work. In fact, he mentioned about being interested in making new stuff; hence it is safe to say that the studio is pretty much on the boat with developing the rumored title.

In related news, prior to these new talks about Elder Scrolls 6, the franchise is believed to be adapted into a movie. While this is surely a very interesting road to take, it seems Bethesda has learned all the cons it follows. (Well, they definitely can larn lessons from the Warcraft movie in that particular aspect).

Fortunately though, Hines also shed some light on his take towards a movie about The Elder Scrolls. He said that if Peter Jackson (Lord Of The Rings And The Hobbit Trilogies) decides to take the helming seat, then "that would be a pretty serious conversation," as reported by GameRant.

Nonetheless, there is also every possibility that the movie might not be a possibility. This is most especially if the Elder Scrolls 6 turns to be a reality. For sure, Bethesda and the rest of the people involved in the project will have too much in their tables.
